ACG offers training and development
as a natural extension of its business practice and operations
expertise. Our consultants can conduct new employee training
workshops or challenge the thinking of seasoned employees through
cross-functional knowledge sharing programs.
ACG has developed and presented courses for MasterCard, the American
Bankers Association (ABA)
National School of Bank Card Management (NSBCM) and other industry leaders.
ACG's Mike McGinley is the Resident Director of the school.
In addition, our consultants have served on the advisory board for the
NSBCM for more than a decade and authored the Bankcard
Business textbook.
Examples of ACG Training projects include the
following:
- Over the years, six
of ACG’s consultants
have taught classes including environmental overview, profitability,
international expansion and more at the ABA
NSBCM. Additionally, Michael
Auriemma serves on the school’s board and helps set
curriculum, choose and evaluate instructors, and improve
overall program design.
- ACG educated investment managers on
the inner workings of the card business and card profitability.
In these training sessions, we related the impact of recent
industry developments on specific credit card issuers and
their networks as well as the industry at large. Additionally,
we identified topics likely to impact issuer performance
in the future.
- ACG has conducted scores
of customized educational workshops. Many of these sessions
have focused on co-brand partnerships, but subjects have
spanned the spectrum of industry interests. Clients have
included issuers, brand partners, networks and vendors. Audience
members have come from marketing, finance, legal and other
client disciplines to learn about marketing, economics, deal
terms, bidding processes, revenue sharing, customer value
propositions and portfolio management.
- ACG designed and taught a series of courses for
employees of a major payment network. Classes ranged in length
from an hour to two days. Topics included history of the
credit card market, profitability, marketing, current and
future trends, and alliance development.
- An international payments
network enlisted ACG to contribute course content while designing
online training for employees and clients. The self-directed
training included: an overview of credit risk models for
both the US and global markets; strategies, tactics and infrastructure
for credit card risk management; success measures used to
evaluate portfolio performance; and sales techniques for
how the network’s
employees could generate qualified leads among its issuing
members.
